Lemon Juice Detox – Day 1
My Lemon Juice Detox is officially underway! I woke up pretty early this morning – largely thanks to my daughter complaining about tigers at 5.30am (it was a dream, we don’t live in a zoo).
So after trying and the failing to get back to sleep, I decided to get up and start my day early.
The first thing I do when I am on the detox, is get the Salt Water Flush out of the way. Now, this can take a day or two to work, especially if you haven’t done any kind of pre-tox, so don’t beat yourself up if nothing happens today.
So, I mixed my SWF (instructions for all of this are on the blog and in my free downloadable report) and necked it back. This is not a pleasant experience – unless you are really into salt, which frankly is not a good thing!
(again, tips for the best way to get this down are in the FREE report)
I wasn’t really expecting anything much to happen as it never really does on the first day, but I think the benefits of my pre-tox have kicked in because I did actually get a small elimination – so all good and we’re on our way here.
I think the fact that my body is already getting into the zone will also make the detox smoother and I can end it on day 10 as I will have, theoretically, had a longer detox than if my body only started to get into the detox around day 2 – 3.
It’s now 1.40pm UK time and I’m just about to have another detox drink, this will be my 4th today. I generally have my first one about 30mins to an hours after the SWF. So far the hunger pains have stayed at bay and if I do get any then it won’t really last past day 3.
No other ill effects to report – head is clear, I’ve been working all morning and – the sun is shining
Tonight I will have my Senna Tea before going to bed (gag) and I will expect an early elimination from that tomorrow prior to the salt water flush, but I shall keep you posted!#
Don’t forget to say hi in the comments below and let me know how your detox is going,
Nikki

Hi Nikki, great to hear you’ve kicked off your next detox. I really enjoyed reading your blog and it helped me heaps through my past 2 weeks. I decided to do 7 days full program as it was my first time. I felt so good I kept going for a further 7 days doing the relaxed version – I drank the mix all day then ate a light dinner(organic veg soup) and a piece of fruit.
I cannot even explain how amazing I feel. I had bad IBS and felt bloated all the time. I am at a healthy weight so didn’t expect to lose much but dropped from 65.2kgs to 61.5kgs in the first 7 days and lost another kilo in the second week.
I almost don’t want to stop ha ha
Best of luck for this round, cheers to lots of elimating and good feelings. Stay positive!
Hi Elle,
I’m so pleased to hear about how great you feel – I also ended up going much further with my detox than I ever planned because I felt so GREAT. I hope the IBS has eased – it commonly does with the detox, thanks for your wonderfully positive comment,
All the Best
Nikki

Hi Nikki! Love your blog. I actually decided to do the lemon detox after reading your journey, though I’ve been thinking about it for the past month. You have given me the inspiration to experience this remarkable journey to self-cleansing. I am now on my day two and i do admit that it is not easy. The hunger pangs are easily managed but since I am using the black molasses, well, they could be a challenge. The taste is not so great but since I cannot find any maple syrup (I live in the Philippines), I am using the black molasses. So far, the biggest challenge is of course the SWF but I am determined to do it for the whole duration of my detox. I was able to have an elimination about an hour after drinking it, and it felt good after. Same thing happens on my second day and I feel that I am doing the right thing with the SWF. As for the lemon, its tolerable and I feel that I can keep up with it, especially as I am getting inspiration from your own journey. My first day, I have met many trials as there was a celebration at work as well as my mom’s birthday at home. But i was able to faithfully commit to this detox and it was such a good feeling.
Thank you again for the inspiration.
Hi Yasmin,
I’m so pleased you’re enjoying the blog! The detox is certainly a journey worth sharing and connecting with others when you’re on it!
I haven’t had any experience with the black molasses myself but good for you to give it a go with what you’ve got. I quite like the detox drink, but many don’t even with the maple syrup. I think the cayenne puts a lot of people off – but without the cayenne it just wont be the same.
And well done you for getting past so many tests on your first day – that was certainly a challenge.
I see also from your other comment that you are getting up early to do the SWF as you work – wow, you are truly committed. I hope that you have a great detox and don’t give up if you feel crap on day 3 – it happens to most of us.
Keep me posted on your progress,
Nikki
hello nikki,
Sorry for the super late reply. Yes, I was really committed and since i felt renewed energy, it motivated me to continue this journey. Sadly, I only last up to day five. The biggest obstacle for me is my work. I was late the whole five days I was doing the detox but it was worth it. I am planning to do another detox, maybe after the holidays and I hope I can do it for 10 days. Also, I never experienced any headaches the whole time even though I am a coffee lover. The funny thing is I rarely drink coffee now (maybe once a week only). I just don’t feel the craving that I usually have before. And I love my peppermint tea. LOL
Hey, you did fantastically well! I admire everyone who gives this a shot around work commitments! I am going to do my next detox after the Christams festivities are over and I’ll be emailing everyone on my list (everyone who’d downloaded the free guide) to see who wants to join me. Perhaps we can have a mass detox!
